❐ Never turn the hot device upside down or on its side as otherwise hot water can escape. The
exception to this is controlled emptying of the water reservoir.
❐ When emptying the water reservoir and during the self-cleaning of the device, avoid any
contact with the emerging water or steam.

Danger of Electric Shock and Fire

❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with safety contacts.
The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to
the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the technical data of the
device. Be aware that the mains power grids in different countries operate at different volt-
age levels. Check whether the local mains voltage corresponds to the technical data of the
device. Only use suitable extension cables and plug adapters whose technical data is the same
as that of the device.
❐ Never immerse the device in water or other liquids! Ensure that the device, the cable or the
plug cannot fall into water or become wet. Should the device fall into water, switch off the
power supply immediately.
❐ Never touch the device, the cable or the plug with wet hands.
❐ Never direct the steam directly at mains cables or parts containing electrical components
(such as inside ovens, fridges, at switches and lights, microwave ovens).
❐ Switch the device off and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket
– when the device is not in use,
– when you leave the room,
– if a fault occurs while the device is in operation,
– before a thunderstorm,
– before you pour water into the water reservoir or empty it,
– before you clean and/or put away the device.
❐ When you want to remove the mains plug from the socket, always pull the plug and never
the mains cable.
❐ Use the device only in closed rooms.
❐ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and explosive
fumes.
❐ Caution, hot surface! Place the device on an even, stable surface during and shortly after use.
When you do this, always place the device upright on its base to prevent fi res.
❐ Do not operate the device in a very damp environment or in the vicinity of combustible
material.
❐ Immediately after ironing, place the still hot device down a minimum distance of 15 cm away
from walls, furniture and other objects.
❐ In the interest of your own safety, check the device, the cable and the mains plug for damage
every time before use. The device should only be used if it is not damaged in any way!
❐ In the event of damage/faults, switch the device off immediately.
❐ Never try to repair an electrical device, a cable or a plug yourself or replace parts. If defects
occur, the device may no longer be used. Get in touch with your nearest customer service
