❐ Never leave the iron standing with the hot bottom on items of clothing for too long to pre-
vent damage to the clothing.
❐ Do not iron over zips, studs, clips etc. to prevent any scratching of the ceramic coating on
the bottom of the iron.
❐ Keep the water reservoir cover closed while operating the iron. Open the water reservoir
cover only to fi ll the water reservoir.
❐ Place the device on an even, stable and heat-resistant surface during and shortly after use.
Always place the device upright on its base to prevent damage to the surface which could be
caused by the hot bottom section of the iron.
NOTE: You might notice a small amount of smoke the fi rst time you use the device. This is harm-
less and will cease as you use the device.

Dry-Ironing

NOTE: If you dry-iron, you do not need any water in the water reservoir!
1. Check the label in the garment for the required ironing temperature and set this to the tem-
perature you want using the temperature control.
2. Move the steam quantity control to position 0.
3. Place the device to heat up upright on a stable, fl at and heat-resistant surface.
4. Plug the mains plug of the device into a properly installed mains socket that is easily acces-
sible. The operating lamp lights up as soon as the device has been connected to a socket.
5. The temperature control lamp lights up as soon as the device starts heating up. Once the
device has reached the set temperature, the temperature control lamp goes out. You can now
start ironing.

Steam-Ironing

CAUTION!
❐ Please note that synthetic fi bres, nylon and silk are not ironed with steam. The textiles may
be damaged!
❐ Never press the steam burst button for longer than 5 seconds without stopping to prevent
water from running out of the bottom of the iron.
❐ Make sure that there is a suffi cient amount of water in the water reservoir if you want to
use the steam burst button.
❐ Never aim the steam directly at people, animals or plants. This can cause severe scalding.
1. Fill up the water reservoir with water (see the "Filling the Water Reservoir" section).
2. Move the temperature control, depending on what the care label of the item to be ironed
states, to the medium (••) to maximum temperature. Steam-ironing is possible in this range.
3. Place the device to heat up upright on a stable, fl at, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant
surface.
4. Plug the mains plug of the device into a properly installed mains socket that is easily acces-
sible. The operating lamp lights up as soon as the device has been connected to a socket.
