The RF converter changes
the video and
audio signals of the video tape to the same
type of signals used for TV broadcasts. Setthe
RF converter to a channel not employed for
broadcasts. The CHANNEL
selector is fac-
tory-set at UHF channel 36. If that channel is
employed for broadcasts, set the video chan-
nel as follows:

Press the POWER
button.
Tune the TV to a vacant channel between
UHF 30 and 39.
Set the CONVERTER
OUT switch to the
PAL TV system as that of the PAL TV
receiver.
Set the SYSTEM
selector to the same
position as your television system PAL K, |
orG.
Insert a cassette into the unit and press the
» PLAY button.
Turn the CHANNEL selector with a small
screwdriver until the playback picture is
clearly displayed on the TV screen.
Note
When setting the video channel, connect to
a PAL TV.
Video channel setting will only be neces-
sary if your unit and TV are connected via
the supplied antenna cable.
To watch TV programs, turn off this unit.
When the unit is turned on, the signals from
the unit are automatically transmitted to the
TV.
Be sure to use a small screwdriver to turn
the CHANNEL
selector. If the selector is
turned with a big screwdriver beyond the
range of rotation, the selector may be dam-
aged.

Video'Channel Haring Video Cassettes
This unit will operate with any cassette that has
the VHS' mark.
Note on handling video cassettes
Avoid moisture—Moisture
can condense
on the tape if it is moved from a cold place
to a warm one.
Playing a tape that has
moisture on it will damage the tape and the
unit. Before using a tape in this condition,
wait until the tape has warmed to room
temperature and the moisture has evapo-
rated.
Avoid direct sunlight, extreme heat, high
humidity, magnetic fields and dusty places.
Do not drop the cassette or subject it to
vibration.
Do not tamper with the cassette mecha-
nism.
Do not touch the tape with your fingers.
Store the cassette in its case.
Caution
Never insert anything other than a VHS) video
cassette through the cassette compartment
door.
You may prevent the accidental erasure of a
tape by breaking off the tab on the back edge
of the cassette. If you decide to record on the
tape again, cover the tab opening with cello-
phane tape.
Le convertisseur RF transforme les signaux
vidéo et audio de labande vidéo dans le méme

telévisées. Régler le convertisseur RF sur une
chaine inutilisée par les emissions télévisées.
Le sélecteur CHANNEL est réglé en usine sur
la chaine UHF 36. Si cette chaine est utilisée
pour des émissions, assigner un autre canal
vidéo de la maniére suivante:

Appuyer sur l'interrupteur POWER.
Syntoniser le téléviseur sur une chaine
vacante, située entre UHF 30 et 39.
Commuter
l'interrupteur CONVERTER
OUT surle PAL systéme de télévision que
le PAL téléviseur.
Commuter
le sélecteur SYSTEM
sur la
méme position que le systeme de télévision
utilisé, a savoir, PAL K, |, ou G.
Installer une cassette dans |'appareil, puis
appuyer sur la touche ® PLAY.
. Tourner le sélecteur CHANNEL
avec un
tournevis jusqu'a ce que l'image de lecture
soit clairement
visible
sur l'écran
du
téléviseur.
Remarque
Brancher sur un téléviseur PAL pour régler
le canal vidéo.
Le réglage du canal vidéo n'est nécessaire
que lorsque le magnétoscope etle téléviseur
sont connectés par l'intermédiaire du cor-
don d'antenne fourni.
Pour regarder les émissions
télévisées,
mettre
le magnétoscope
hors tension.
Quand il est sous tension, ses signaux sont
automatiquement envoyés au téléviseur.
Veiller @ utiliser un petit tournevis pour
tourner le sélecteur CHANNEL. En effet, si
le sélecteur est ajusté avec un gros tournevis
au-dela de la plage de rotation admissible,
il risque d'étre abimé.
