General
Device concept
The TP 125 VRD works on resonance inverter principles. The voltage of the mains supply
is rectified. The DC voltage is then inverted at a frequency of up to 150 kHz. The welding
transformer rectifies and regulates the working voltage to the desired level, and then deliv-
ers this to the output jacks.
An electronic regulator adapts the power source characteristic to suit the welding elec-
trode. The result is a lightweight and compact device with excellent ignition and weld prop-
erties.
When using cellulose electrodes (CEL), a special mode that can be selected for this pur-
pose produces perfect welding results.
TIG welding with touchdown ignition extends the application area significantly.

The TransPocket power sources are com-
pact and manufactured in such a way that
they will function reliably even under harsh
operating conditions. Powder-coated sheet
metal housing, control elements protected
by a plastic frame and connection sockets
with a bayonet latch satisfy the highest de-
mands. The carrying strap facilitates easy
transportation, both in house or on site.
The power source also has a safety device
for voltage reduction (see "VRD safety de-
vice").
