Maximum useful life (commercial/non-commer-
cial use)
Providing proper use and no detectable signs of
wear showing as well as under optimum storage
conditions: textile lanyards: 10 years; metal
connectors: no limits known.
Frequent or extreme use
Frequent use or very high work load, e. g. use with
soiled ropes, may substantially reduce the useful life.
Remove the product from service immediately if
any of the following applies
- if webbing edges are damaged or individual fibres
have been pulled from the webbing
- if visible signs of damage or abrasion show on
seems
- if melting burns, decolouration or strong
furriness of the webbing are noticed
- if the material has come in contact with
chemicals or has been subjected to a hard fall
load (fall factor >1)
- if webbing or slings have an integrated wear
indicator, the product must be replaced imme-
diately if wear has exposed the indicator (internal
fabric of different colour has become visible),
continued use may cause fatal accidents.
Immediately remove metal connectors from use in
the following situations
- fall and impact from great height have occurred,
- extreme grooving and/or deformation is visible,
- sharp edges from material wear are visible,
- damage is visible or the function is impaired,
- If in doubt concerning the safe condition of the
product, remove it from use immediately.
Repairs may only be performed as outlined in the
instructions of the manufacturer.
Inspection
In case of commercial use, the product must be
inspected regularly or at least once a year by the
manufacturer, a qualified person or an approved
inspection body/agency; thereafter it may have to
be serviced or removed from use. Evidence of the
inspections must be documented.
STORAGE, TRANSPORT AND MAINTENANCE
Storage/transport
Store cool, dry, and protected from daylight.
Prevent contact with chemicals. Prevent mechanic
strain by crushing, pressure or tension. Use
protective bags or special storage and transport
containers.
Cleaning
Clean contaminated products in hand warm water
(if needed, add pH-balanced soap). Commercial,
halogen-free disinfectants may be used if required.
Climate during use
The temperature range for continuous use of the
product (in dry conditions) is approx. -30 °C to
+55 °C.
