Decoder 5243: Einbau in Loks
mit NEM 651-Schnittstelle
Beachten Sie den Anschlussplan in Abb. 1.
► Öffnen Sie die Lok und entfernen Sie den Brü-
ckenstecker aus der Schnittstellenbuchse der
Lok.
► Stecken Sie den NEM 651-Stecker des Deco-
ders in die Schnittstellenbuchse der Lok.
Achten Sie bei Verwendung von Decodern mit
6-poligen Steckern nach NEM 651 darauf, dass
die Markierungen auf dem Stecker und der
Buchse nach dem Einbau übereinanderliegen.
Kleben Sie in der Nähe befindliche Metallteile mit
Isolierband ab. Decoder nicht in Isolierband ein-
wickeln, da es die Wärmeabfuhr behindert und zu
thermischer Überlastung führt.

ohne NEM 651-Schnittstelle
Zum Einbau in Loks ohne Schnittstellenbuchse
verwenden Sie bitte den Decoder mit Anschluss-
drähten (Art. Nr. 5242). Beachten Sie unbedingt
die Belegung der Anschlüsse (Tabelle unten) und
die Abbildung 1.
► Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse der Lok und legen Sie
die Stelle fest, an der Sie den Decoder einbau-
en wollen.
► Trennen Sie die Verbindungen des Motors zu
den Schienenabnehmern bzw. bei Loks mit
elektronischem Umschalter die Verbindungen
des Umschalters zum Motor und zu den Schie-
nenabnehmern. Der Umschalter wird nicht
mehr benötigt.
► Löten Sie die von den Schienen a bnehmern
kommenden Anschlüsse an den Punkten X3
und X4 an.
► Löten Sie dann die vom Motor kommenden
Anschlüsse an den Punkten X1 und X2 an.
Sollte die Fahrtrichtung der Lok im Analogbe-
trieb nicht mit der am Trafo eingestellten Fahrt-
richtung übereinstimmen, müssen Sie die An-
schlüsse X1 und X2 austauschen.

Decoder 5243: Mounting into locos
with interface as per NEM 651
Follow the connection diagram fig. 1.
► Open the loco and remove the bridge plate
from the interface socket of the loco.
► Insert the NEM 651-connector into the interface
socket of the locomotive.
Notice, that the mark (often a "*" or a "+") which
is often printed on the circuit board fits the mark
on the decoder.
Insulate all metal parts close to the decoder but
don't wrap the decoder with insulation tape to
avoid overheating. Otherwise the decoder may
be thermally overloaded. If necessarry fix the de-
coder with a double sided adhesive pad.
Decoder 5242: Mounting into locos
without interface as per NEM 651
For mounting into locos without an interface "651"
please use the decoder 5242. Notice the table
below and figure 1 which shows the connection
diagram.
► Open the locomotive housing. Locate the posi-
tion for the decoder.
► Disconnect the motor from the rail current col-
lector or the change-over switch from the motor
and rails if you have a locomotive with electron-
ic change-over switch. The change-over switch
is no longer necessary, you can remove it.
► Solder the connection to the slider at point X3,
and the connection to the housing to point X4.
These two connections can be exchanged with-
out effecting functionality.
► Next solder the connections from the motor to
the points X1 and X2. Should the locomotive´s
direction of motion in analogue mode not match
the direction of motion set at the speed control
you have to swap the connections to the points
X1 and X2.
