We strongly recommend that you check that your softener is working properly on a regular basis.
The residual hardness of the water must not be less than 15°F. If the hardness is insufficient, the
warranty can be invalidated.
Descaling - checking the anode
➢ Drain the appliance (see the section above).
➢ Remove the cover and unscrew the baseplate (some residual water might escape now).
➢ Clean the tank: Without using metallic objects or chemical agents, remove all of the deposits from the
electrical elements or sleeve (steatite), the immersion sleeve, and the bottom of the tank.
➢ Check the wear on the anode if a magnesium anode is used. A magnesium anode is consumed
progressively in relation to the water quality in order to prevent the corrosion of the tank. If its diameter is
less than 15 mm (for the armoured range) or 10 mm (for the steatite range) or if its total volume is less
than 50% of its initial volume, the anode must be replaced.
➢ Use a new seal each time the baseplate is installed again after being removed.
➢ When retightening the bolts, use a cross-tightening technique. The tightening torque should be between
18 and 20 Nm.
