Troubleshooting
The VDO Logic Pilot is equipped with a self-diagnosis system. This facility allows errors, caused for instance
by incorrect installation, to be found rapidly.
The self-tests are performed automatically each time the power supply is switched on.
If faults are found, for example due to a missing cable connection, a corresponding error message is shown
on the LC display.
You will find a list of the possible error messages, their causes and the recommended remedial action on
the following pages.
Never connect or disconnect cables when the on-board power supply is on.
Check the electrical connections against the installation diagram before starting the system.
Connect cable screens correctly to chassis earth.
System messages and errors
If your VDO autopilot detects an error in the system, an error message is shown on the display. Serious errors
lead the autopilot to switch automatically from pilot to standby mode.
If any of the messages listed below is displayed, first follow the corresponding notes on troubleshooting. If
the fault cannot be located or rectified, your VDO Kienzle agency will be pleased to help you.
