5. In the third measurement program, (press the "UP" button again)
with the reference number "2", the time-counter displays hours,
minutes and seconds. In the sub-display on the left the hours of the
power measurement are counted; in the centre sub-display the min-
utes and seconds are counted. The time display is activated as soon as
a consumer is connected and switched on, thereby using power.
6. In the fourth measurement program (press the "UP" button again)
with the reference number "3" you can set a so-called timer, a type
of time limit for the measurement time. The reference number
flashes. You can set the measurement time in hours (max. 99), min-
utes (max. 59) and seconds (max. 59) by using the "SET/R", "UP" and
"DOWN" buttons. You can use this function for example to deter-
mine the stand-by consumption of a television or the power con-
sumption of a refrigerator or freezer over a period of 24 hours.
7. In the fifth measurement program (press the "UP" button again) with
the reference number "4", the reference number flashes. You can
enter the kWh price here, e.g. 0.23 cents, using the buttons "SET/R",
"UP" or "DOWN". For a kWh price of 23 cents, the first digit position
remains at "0", i.e. press the button "SET/R" once. The second digit
position then starts to flash. Enter the digit 2 (=2 x UP) and press SET/R
to confirm. The third digit position then starts to flash. Enter the digit
3 (=3 x UP or 7 x DOWN) and press the button SET/R again to confirm.
Since the final digit position is also "0", re-confirm by pressing the
button SET/R again. The price per 1 kWh (in the center display) is now set.
8.
The accumulated total costs as well as the overall performance can be
reset (to „0") by switching off the meter and switching it back on
again.
5.13 Usage of the Mulitmeter in connection with a
Personal Computer
An extensive Windows software package (diskette and interface cable)
for interfacing to a computer is optionally available.
a) Connection
Connect an RS-232 interface cable (optionally available with the soft-
ware) to the Multimeter and with a serial interface of the deactiva-
ted computer.

Now switch on the measuring device and the computer.
b) The data format consists of a frame of 14 bytes. The frames are set
as follows:

6. Maintenance and Calibration

To ensure the long-term accuracy of the Multimeter, it should be cali-
brated annually. Our Calibration Dept. in "Service 2000" can complete
the calibration for you at a competitive price.
Fuse replacement is described in Section 2. (Safety rules). See Section 4.1
for battery replacement.
For cleaning the device and display, use a clean, dry, anti-static and lint-
free cleaning rag.
Attention!
When cleaning the housing, do not use detergents containing hydrog-
carbons, petrol, alcohol or similar. These chemicals could damage the
surface of the measuring unit. Besides solvent vapors are dangerous to
your health and explosive.
