Safety instructions
1.1
Designated use
The transducer UC2 is used for measuring absolute pressure and overpressure in gases, steam and
liquids.
1.2
Installation, commissioning and operation
The transducer is designed to meet state-of-the-art safety requirements and conforms to applicable
standards and EC regulations. If installed incorrectly or used for applications for which it is not
intended, however, the device can present a source of application-related danger, e.g. product over-
flow due to incorrect installation or calibration. For this reason, installation, connection to the elec-
tricity supply, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the measuring system must only be
carried out by trained, qualified specialists authorized to perform such work by the facility's owner-
operator. The specialist must have read and understood these Operating Instructions and must
follow the instructions they contain. Modifications and repairs to the device are permissible only
when they are expressly approved in the Operating Instructions.
1.3
Hazardous areas
When using the transducer in hazardous areas, applicable national standards and regulations must
be observed.
Separate documentation (XA), which forms an integral part of this documentation, is supplied with
the device. The installation regulations, connection values and safety instructions listed in this
document must be observed.
• Ensure that all staff are suitably qualified.
• Measuring point requirements with regard to measurement and safety must be observed.
