Use of the Cassette in the filter holder
Insert the cassette according to the selected filter holder. Please refer to

the user manual for the filter holder.
— Ensure the correct orientation of the slots when mounting the cassette.
The slots of the cassette must be aligned so that they accommodate the
upper and lower tie rod of the filter holder.
CAUTION
Do not forget the upper stay bars | connecting rods when using hydraulic
clamping elements.
Tension the cassette in the filter holder with the recommended torque

wrench or with the appropriate hydraulic pressure. Follow the
instructions in the user manual for the filter holder.
Maintain the required clamping forces (see chapter "7.2 Clamping
t
Forces", page 25).
Connecting the cassette with sterile connectors:

refer to the operating instructions of the TFF system.

Rinsing Cassettes
IMPORTANT
Before using a cassette, it is required to rinse the assembly to meet EP and
USP requirements with deionized water, buffer or physiological saline
solution as listed in the table below.

Limit the retentate outlet sufficiently so that the ratio of permeate flow

to retentate flow is 1 : 1.
Drain the permeate and retentate.

After approx. 33% of the rinsing agent has been used, stop pump for

15 minutes and let the rinsing liquid sit within the system, then start
pump again.
