11 Mounting the parking aid

Mounting the control electronics and the loudspeaker
To mount the control electronics and the loudspeaker, proceed as shown

Mounting the sensors

NOTICE! Risk of malfunction
• Observe the alignment of the sensor holders to ensure the correct function of the parking aid. At-
tach the sensor holders with the retaining tabs pointing up and down.
• Ensure that the sensors snap into the sensor holders correctly.
NOTICE! Risk of paint damage
• Ensure that the ambient temperature does not drop below 18 °C during punching or drilling.
• Ensure not to tilt the punching tool when operating (B,
NOTICE! Damage hazard
After drilling through the bumpers, remove all chips and treat the open edges with rust preventative paint.
Note The parking aid can also be used with only 3 or 2 sensors installed (see chapter
sors).
To mount the sensors to the bumper, proceed as shown

WARNING! Electrocution hazard
• Disconnect the ground cable from the battery before connecting the device.
• Lay the cable so that they cannot be damaged (e.g. by sharp edges). Crushed cables can lead to se-
rious injury.
Note
• On some vehicles, the reversing light only works when the ignition is switched on. Turn on the igni-
tion to identify the positive and the ground cables.
• MWE9104F only: Set a switch-off time for the front sensors (see chapter
if no speed signal is received for the control electronics of the front sensors (neither an analog con-
nection from the tachometer nor digital via CAN bus such as CBI200). The front sensors are activat-
ed by switching on the ignition and deactivated after the set time. Optionally, use an external switch
(accessory) to activate the front sensors.
