Action
– Check Wedge instructions (if applicable)
– Shift socket posterior (or device anterior)
– Consider plantarflexion
– Check heel of the shoe and shoe performance
D/P Flexion Alignment
• Bench- and dynamic alignment with alignment inserts.
• After alignment take out alignment inserts (Fig. 5).
• If there is no movement after removing inserts while walking, lower
the setting for both the D-Valve and P-Valve (Fig. 6).
• Start adjusting the P-Valve (Fig. 7)
– If the heel is too stiff, decrease the P-Valve setting.
– If the heel is too soft, increase the P-Valve setting.
• Start adjusting the D-valve (Fig. 8)
– If motion in stance is too slow, decrease the D-Valve setting.
– If motion in stance is too fast, increase the D-Valve setting.
• Factory settings are set to 3 for both valves (Fig. 9).
USAGE
Cleaning and care
Clean with a damp cloth and a mild soap. Dry with a cloth after cleaning.
Environmental Conditions
The device should not come in contact with fresh water, salt water or
chlorinated water.
MAINTENANCE
The device and the overall prosthesis should be examined by a healthcare
professional. Interval should be determined based on patient activity.
Noise from Foot
Noise may occur if sand or debris is present in device. In that case, the
healthcare professional should doff the foot, clean it with the help of
compressed air and replace the Spectra sock if it is damaged.
REPORT OF SERIOUS INCIDENT
Any serious incident in relation to the device must be reported to the
manufacturer and relevant authorities.
DISPOSAL
The device and packaging must be disposed of in accordance with
respective local or national environmental regulations.
LIABILITY
Össur does not assume liability for the following:
• Device not maintained as instructed by the instructions for use.
• Device assembled with components from other manufacturers.
• Device used outside of recommended use condition, application, or
environment.
Compliance
This device has been tested according to ISO 10328 standard to two
million load cycles.
Depending on patient activity this may correspond to 2-3 years of use.
