AC voltage tests
can be peformed up to 36.000 V, the measurement value is preceded with the symbol „~".
DC voltage tests
can be peformed up to 36.000 V. When you connect the test electrode to the positive pole of a direct
voltage, the indicated value is unsigned; is it connected to minus, the measurement value is preceded
with the symbol „-".
Note:
At 37 kV or more the indicated value flashes and „OL" appears in the upper display line.
Then, testing has to be stopped.
Frequency indication
Simultaneously to voltage indication, the upper display line
indicates the mains frequency.
With direct voltage „dc" is indicated.
Application in moist environments
The DSP 3HS36 is approved for indoor and outdoor applications.
In case of precipitation, the device has to be wiped dry before usage.
Workings in case of dense fog and impaired visibility are not approved.
5. Energy source

5.1 Check battery condition

The battery condition is indicated by a battery symbol in the display as follows:
full capacity
still many measurements possible
replace the battery soon – few measurements possible
Battery symbol flashing: no further measurements admissible!
Battery change
The device works with a 9 V-block IEC 6LR61 (alkali-manganese).
Remove the display unit from the basic pipe (see picture).
Unscrew the two yellow screws.
Remove the holding bracket and pull the device out of its holder.
Unscrew the cover of the battery compartment on the back of the
device. Let the battery slide out of the CAT IV protection cover.
Release battery connecting contacts. After connecting the new battery,
use the CAT IV protection cover to insert the battery into the battery
compartment. Screw tight the cover.
Erect the display unit on the basic pipe. Put the device back into the
holder, close the mounting bracket and fasten the screws.
Attention!
Voltage testers may not be used with open battery box.
Only use the erected MultiSafe DSP 3HS36 on the basic pipe in
connection with the test probe!
