5. Menu Volume measurements on gas lines

After zeroing, press the ± key to activate the menu item Volume. The DC 100
prompts you to enter the sample volume. When a test pump is used, 0.163
litres must be considered per stroke. For smaller test volumes a 20 ml or 100
ml disposable syringe can be used to take the sample. Once the sample volu-
me has been entered and confirmed with ENTER the DC 100
needs a few
PRO
seconds to stabilise. Afterwards the sample can be taken with the test pump
or syringe. The display shows directly the volume measured in litres with a
resolution of 0.1 l. The end of the measurement is marked with ENTER. The
results can then be printed out. This measurement takes only a few seconds
at virtually the ambient pressure, so any gas leaks of e.g. 1 l/h (at operating
pressure) are imperceptible. This method is therefore ideal for volume mea-
surements on gas lines.
