Even the basic version allows to perform measurements of the (room) climate
and features a logger for storing all measured values. Apart from the pressure
sensor, also a temperature sensor and a room humidity sensor are included
as standard. A special wall-temperature sensor is optionally available, allow-
ing a permanent non-destructive installation of the device on the spot even
in problematic cases (e. g. wallpaper infested with mould). In addition, the
range of application can be extended by an external precision room-tempe-
rature sensor and an exhaust-gas temperature probe, permitting complete
flow measurements. Depending on the selected sampling rate, all measured
values can be stored up to several years. The integrated IrDA interface allows
to transmit the data to the PC. The PC software can be downloaded for free
from the Internet. Measurement logs can be provided with the company logo
and then be printed out directly via a HP and/or TD 600 thermal printer. If re-
quired, a continuous transmission of IrDA data can be enabled in the "Setup"
men, so that every second all four measured parameters (pressure, tempera-
ture [external/internal], relative humidity) are transmitted to the PC, together
with the corresponding channel numbers.
A completely new processor technology ensures an extremely low power
consumption which is dynamically adapted to the desired measuring func-
tion. Even in the operating mode with max. power consumption (6 mA), two
standard batteries (2 mignon cells, 2 Ah) supply enough energy to operate
the device for more than 300 hours. In the logger mode, service life can be
extended to several years if a sampling rate of 4 hours between individual
measurements is selected (i. e.: 4680 measurements x 4 hours) – without
having to replace the batteries and without memory overflow.
The arithmetic logic unit of the processor permits easy processing of the
measured values, so that e. g. the volume of a container, tank or pipe section
is indicated in litres and/or the temperature-corrected flow velocity measured
with a Prandtl tube is indicated in m/s.
