3. Signal menu, 4-Pa-test

couple the indoor connection with the positive terminal (see also fig. 3.2). A
vacuum present in the heating equipment room (in relation to the pressure at
the reference site) will then logically result in a negative sign of the differential
pressure.

Select the menu option "Signal" and start the 4 Pa test as follows: Move the
cursor with the "±" button to the menu option "Signal" and start the test by
pressing the "Enter" button twice (the cursor starts to flash).
After activating the 4 Pa test the measuring unit "Pa" starts to flash. The dis-
play toggles continuously between the differential pressure measured at the
capillary tubes and the remaining test time in minutes and seconds.
The measurement takes five minutes and is performed according to the fol-
lowing flow chart:
1. Switch on the combustion system and the exhaust-gas system and set
them to their maximum power settings. Open the external window and/or
connecting door to the reference site and check whether the exhaust gases
are properly discharged. Route the outside and/or reference capillary tube.
2. Switch on the differential pressure measuring instrument and wait until the
zero point has settled. Connect the capillary tubes to the measuring instru-
ment (reference = [-] terminal, heating equipment room = [+] terminal) and
check the zero point with the help of the measured value indicator. Start the
pressure-trend recording. Wait for approx. 30 seconds with the window/door
being open, to allow for a registration of the zero line.
3. Close window/door, wait for approx. 30 seconds and check the vacuum.
4. Open window/door and wait for approx. 30 seconds. The zero line should
be achieved again.
5. Close window/door, wait for approx. 30 seconds and check the vacuum.
6. Open window/door and wait for approx. 30 seconds. The zero line should
be achieved again.
7. Close window/door, wait for approx. 30 seconds and check the vacuum.
