f) Non-contact AC voltage test "NCV"
Make sure that all measuring sockets are unoccupied. Remove all measuring leads and adapters
from the meter.
This function only serves as an aid. When working on these cables, it is essential to carry out
preliminary contact measurements to ensure that they are de-energised.
Switch on the DMM and select the measuring function "NCV".
- Check this function in advance on a known AC voltage source.
- Guide the measuring device with the sensor surface (1) at a distance of maximum 10 mm to the place to be tested.
For twisted lines, it is advisable to check the cable to a length of about 20 -30 cm.
- A n acoustic signal sounds when voltage is detected. The display is not needed for this and does not show defined
values.
- Switch off the DMM after measuring. Turn the rotary switch to the "OFF" position or switch off the unit via the
"POWER" button.
Due to the sensitivity, static fields can also be displayed when touching. This is normal and does not affect
the test result.
g) Transistor test "hFE"
Transistor tests can only be carried out with the optionally available measuring adapter. No voltage
may be applied to the adapter and measured.
- Switch on the DMM and select the measuring function "hFE".
- R emove all measuring leads from the device.
- Connect the optional measuring adapter to the measuring sockets V (8) and mA (7).
- Place the transistor to be tested with the correct polarity in the corresponding socket. The left socket is for NPN
types and the right socket for PNP types. SMD types can also be tested.
- The display shows the gain factor "hFE".
- A fter measuring, remove the adapter and switch off the DMM with the "POWER" button (3).

The hold button (9) allows the measured value to be recorded on display. The symbol "H" appears on the display. This
facilitates the reading or is for documentation purposes. Press again to switch back to measurement mode.

Optional measuring adapter

To make some measurements easier, an optional measuring adapter is available. This adapter facilitates the connec-
tion of transistors and commercially available K-type thermo sensors with miniature plugs. The adapter is connected
into the measuring sockets V (8) and mA (7).
