6.2.3 Rebound adjustment

With the rebound adjuster you can control the return speed
of the rear shock after compression.
The right rebound speed setting makes the bike stable letting
it follow the variations in the terrain and any obstacles.
If the setting of the rear shock absorber is too reactive this will
make the rear suspension instable and the mountain bike will
have a tendency to snake. Too slow a setting however will
cause problems when dealing with multiple obstacles where
the suspension can't return to its fully extended position fast
enough between one obstacle and the next.
The rebound speed must be adjusted after you have adjusted
the spring preloading correctly.
The rebound speed can be adjusted with knob (R) near the
shock absorber fi xing eyelet.
R
By turning the adjuster in a clockwise direction the
hydraulic damping is increased, rendering the rear
shock slower in the rebound phase.
By turning the adjuster in a counter-clockwise direction
the hydraulic damping is decreased, rendering the rear
shock more reactive in the rebound phase.
N
OTE
To change the setting of the rebound braking, always start
from the fully closed position (adjuster fully clockwise) and
note the number of "clicks".
N
OTE
Don't force the adjuster knob (R) beyond its limit of travel.

6.2.4 Compression adjustment

With the compression adjuster you can control the
compression speed.
The compression setting is at the user's discretion and must
be set to prevent the suspension bottoming out.
A "hard" compression setting gives you more stability and lets
you ride more aggressively making the mountain bike more
reactive, vice versa a "soft" setting means less stability but
also a less "nervous" ride. You can adjust the compression
with knob (C) near the tank.
If the rear shock bottoms, immediately adjust
compression. Incorrect adjustment of compression can
lead to damage to the rear shock, accidents, personal
injury and even death.
To change the setting of the compression braking always start
from the fully closed position (adjuster fully clockwise) and
note the number of "clicks".
Don't force the adjuster knob (C) beyond its limit of travel.
