Check the motor protection filter each time you empty

the dust container".
If during checking you see that the motor protection filter
is dirty, clean it as described below.
1. Switch off the device using the on/off switch, put it into
idle running mode and pull the plug from the socket,
Chapter 5.1, "Switch off device and put into idle run-
ning mode".
2. If you haven't done so already, separate the lid from the
dust container by turning it anticlockwise to unlock it
(Fig. 23/a) and remove by lifting up (Fig. 23/b).
3. Pull the motor protection filter from the cyclone unit us-
ing the tab provided for this purpose (Fig. 24).
4. Rinse the filter thoroughly by hand under clear running
cold or hand-warm water.
ATTENTION:
The motor protection filter is washable, but it may not be
cleaned in dishwashers or washing-machines. Do not
use chemical cleansers to clean the filter. Then leave the
motor protection filter to dry (approx. 24 hours at room
temperature). Only put it back into the appliance when it
is completely dry.
5. If the motor protection filter is damaged or deformed, re-
place it with a new one ( Chapter 7.2, "Accessories
and Spare Parts").
6. Put the new/cleaned and completely dry motor protec-
tion filter back into the cyclone unit so the tab for remov-
ing it is facing up.
7. Put the clean and freshly equipped cyclone unit back in-
to the dust container (Fig. 25). Make sure that the semi-
circle shaped locking element of the cyclone unit locks
into the semi-circle shaped recess on the dust container
(Fig. 25).
8. Put the lid back on the dust container by placing the fit-
ting marks over each other as shown (Fig. 26/a) and
locking the lid by turning clockwise (Fig. 26/b).
9. Before you put the cleaned and freshly equipped dust
container back in its console, check the hygienic ex-
haust filter under the dust container and proceed as de-
