If the brush roller indicator light on the brush base be-
gins to flash (Fig. 31), the integrated protection function has
tripped. The brush roller has either been temporarily
blocked or is still blocked by dirt.
To reset this function, proceed as follows:
1. While the appliance is still on, see if the brush roller can
be reset.
- To do this press the reset pin on the brush base
(Fig. 32).
- If the reset was successful, the brush roller indicator
light will change from red to green.
2. If the brush roller indicator light does not change from
red to green, the brush roller is blocked by dirt and has
to be cleaned. In this instance, proceed as follows,
Chapter 6.5, "Cleaning the brush roller".
Clean the brush roller every time the brush roller indica-
tor light on the brush base flashes red (Fig. 31), as de-
scribed below.
1. Switch off the device using the on/off switch, put it into
idle running mode and pull the plug from the socket,
Chapter 5.1, "Switch off device and put into idle run-
ning mode".
2. Release both retaining clips of the brush roller cover
(Fig. 33).
3. Pivot up the brush roller cover (Fig. 34).
4. Clean the brush roller by hand. If this isn't enough, care-
fully use scissors.
5. After cleaning, first put the brush roller cover in place on
the front. Make sure that the three tabs lock with the
three recesses.
6. Then put the brush roller cover down at the back. En-
sure that it is precisely on the brush base.
7. Put the retaining clips back onto the brush roller cover
and and secure them by stressing them again. You will
feel and hear the locking mechanism snap into place.
8. Now you should be able to reset the brush roller suc-
cessfully, Chapter 6.4, "Resetting the brush roller".
