Mounting in cold plate" technique is only possible with the regenerative power supply
module EMB9341−C or EMB9342−C:
Application
The"cold plate" variant is used mainly for the following applications:
Application of cooling units without blower
ƒ
– e.g. an intense pollution of the cooling air prevents the operation of blowers, since
it would have a negative effect not only on the correct functioning, but also on the
operable life.
Use of the controller directly in the machine with reduced mounting depth
ƒ
– Constructional elements of the machine take over the cooling function
The drive concept provides common cooling units (water coolers, forced−air coolers,
ƒ
etc.) for all controllers.
Requirements on the collective cooler
Collective coolers which can use different coolants (air, water, oil, etc.) can dissipate the
power loss of the regenerative power supply.
In addition to the features required by the user, the following features are important for
safe operation:
Good thermal contact with the collective cooler
ƒ
– Minimum contact surface of the collective cooler with the regenerative power
supply = surface of the cold plate of the regenerative power supply
– Surface flatness of the contact surface approx. 0.05 mm
– Connect collective cooler and cold plate by means of the provided screws.
