Application examples for the phase limit detector

Example 1:
In normal operation, a relatively clear medium
falls in the turbidity range labelled A and re-
sults in a current output between 4 and 8 mA.
If a turbid medium is now introduced, a
connected controller should become active.
For this to occur, the controller must be set
so that it switches on as soon as the current
mA
Example 2:
A very turbid medium falls in the turbidity
range A in normal operation (e.g. digested
sludge) and results in a low current output.
This means that the phase limit to a clear
medium can only be detected if its
mA
output clearly increases (e.g. 2 mA) above
8 mA. This functions only if the turbidity of the
introduced medium falls in the range B and
not in the range C, where the current output
value cannot be clearly distinguished from
that of normal operation in range A.
