7. OPERATION

7.1. START UP THE MANIFOLD
When the reduction units completely installed and required parameters are set:
Check if the shut off valves V1 - V4 are closed.
•
Check inlet gas pressure with the gauge M1 to see if gas is supplied at the inlet connection.
•
SLOWLY open ball valve V1.
•
SLOWLY open ball valve V3. Now the gas pressure reduced by the regulator R1 is supplied
•
into the pipeline.
Check parameter of the outlet reduced gas pressure with the gauge M2 and make sure that
•
the pressure is set to the required parameter. If not, proceed with correction of setting - see
chapter 6.8.
Now the pressure regulator R1 is operational and R2 is reserve one. Never leave both pressure
•
regulators open at the same time.
7.2. CHANGEOVER OF THE OPERATION LINES
Changeover of the operation lines is recommended monthly to prevent an unexpected event
when second reserve regulator is not functional when needed.
Changeover from pressure regulator R1 to R2
Check the inlet pressure parameter with gauge M1 and make sure that gas is supplied into
•
the manifold.
SLOWLY open ball valve V1.
•
SLOWLY open ball valve V3.
•
Close ball valves V2 and V4 to close the gas flow through the regulator R2.
•
Check parameter of the outlet reduced gas pressure with the gauge M2 and make sure the
•
required gas pressure is set. If not, proceed with correction - see chapter 6.8.
Now the pressure regulator R1 is operational and R2 reserve one.
