Phillips screwdriver 2x100
Screwdriver head width 2.0 mm
Hand drill
Drilling jig
Twist drill 12.5 mm dia., shaft area ground to 9 mm dia.
Bodyguard:
Loctite 221
Two spanners WS 19
Sensor:
Screwdriver head width 2.3 mm
Spanner WS 8
Vise
Spanner WS 14
Spanner WS 17

Preparing disassembly

Before retrofitting the BG 4/Tramix check that the following
prerequisites have been met:
— The service technician carrying out the retrofit of the BG
4/Tramix must have attended device and pressure redu-
cer training at Dräger Safety Lübeck.
— The rooms where the retrofit is to be carried out must
meet safety requirements related to the handling of high
pressure oxygen.
Only when these prerequisites are met, BG 4/Tramix
devices may be retrofitted.

Disassembly

The following steps must be carried out. Detailed informa-
tion is contained in the BG 4/Tramix Instructions of Use.
Remove protective cover.
Remove oxygen cylinder.
Detach breathing hoses from breathing air cooler and
CO absorber.

Remove CO absorber and immediately close the three

openings using the three PE plugs R 52 044, D 13 337
and V 04 142 so that they are air-tight.
Remove breathing air cooler.
Remove pressure release valve.
Remove lever.
Remove breathing bag, drain valve and minimum valve.
The following medium pressure hoses are also to be
removed,
for the BG 4:
the hose distributor, blue R 34 257
for the Tramix:
the hose distributor, blue R 34 275
the hose, nf R 33 508.
