FIRST USAG E

1. Po w e r
A 3V (CR2032) battery is included inside unit.
Unit is ready for immediate use. Please remove
the battery tab before use.
2. Setting the Clock
Set the clock when using for the first time or aft e r
changing the battery.
- Open the battery case by sliding off the cover on
the back of the unit.
- Push the "time setting" button. The hour
numbers will start blinking.
- Push the "
" button to select.
- Push the "time setting" button again to set. The
minute numbers will start blinking.

- Push the "
" button to select.

While not in use, the screen will display the time

and room temperature.

TAKING TEMPERAT U R E
When the protective cap is attached, the unit is
automatically in forehead measure mode. It is
easily adapted for the ears by removing the
protective cap.
1. Forehead Mode
The cap attaches by fitting over the probe.
- Press the "
" button. All screen symbols will
appear (fig. 1), followed by the last
temperature taken (fig. 2).
- When you hear a beep, press and hold down
the "
" button.
- Hold the sensor against one of your temples.
- Slide the sensor across your forehead to the
other temple.
- Release the button to stop measuring. You will
hear a beep and the temperature will be
displayed (fig. 3).
The displayed forehead temperature would be
the same as the oral temperature.
Exterior conditions can influence forehead
temperature. If you are unsure of the results, try
taking your ear temperature.

2. Ear Mode
Remove the protective cap. The unit is now in ear
m o d e .
- Press the "
" button. All screen symbols will
appear (fig. 1), followed by the last temperature
taken (fig. 2).
- When you hear a beep the thermometer is ready
(fig. 3), press and hold down the "
(fig. 4)
- Fit the sensor probe into the ear canal until a
beep signals the end of the measuring process.
- Release the button.
- Remove sensor from ear canal. Your temperature
will be displayed.

Important: To make an accurate reading, make
sure that the sensor is securely positioned in
the ear canal so that the sensor lens registers
heat generated by the eardrum. To do this,
gently pull your ear to straighten the ear canal
and fit sensor snugly by turning lightly.
(The thermometer should not be used as an ear
thermometer on babies between the age of
0-12 months.)

To display the last temperature taken, press the
"
" button, the temperature will appear along
with its memory number.
To

and the memory numbers will
appear.

longer works and should be changed. Press any

- Replace with a lithium 3V CR2032 battery in
designated area. The larger part of the battery
should be facing up. You should still be able to
see the "+" sign when battery is installed.
