Operation

1) To switch on the transmitter, keep the button
(2) pressed for 2 seconds until the display is illu-
minated. Various types of information will appear
on the display; see chapter 1.1, position 7. When
you press the knob SET (8), the transmission fre-
quency will briefly appear instead of the channel
number (CH..).
If you do not press any button, the MONA-
COR logo will scroll through the display after
approximately 5 seconds. As soon as a button is
pressed or an audio signal of a sufficient level is
transmitted, the information will appear on the
display again.
2) Headphones connected to the jack
used to monitor the signals of the inputs LOOP
IN (13) and AUX IN (15) and the signals of the
Bluetooth receiver in mono. For simultaneous
interpreting, the source language (to be trans-
lated) can be reproduced via these headphones.
To adjust the volume for the headphones, use the
control EAR VOL (4).
Do not set the additional volume control on
the cable of the microphone to MIN when the
headphone / microphone combination provided is
used. This control is an additional volume control
for the headphones when the control EAR VOL on
the transmitter has been turned up sufficiently.
The switch ON / MUTE for the microphone is
situated on the volume control. For speaking, set
the switch to the position ON. To switch off the
microphone temporarily when it is not used, set
the switch to the position MUTE.
3) Use the buttons FEED (5) and FEED THRU (9) to
select the type of signal to be transmitted:
FEED: The signals from the headphone/micro-
phone combination and from the input
MIC (16)
FEED THRU: AUX signals: signals of the jacks AUX
IN (15), LOOP IN (13) and of the Blue-
tooth receiver
Note: In the operating mode "Transmitter" [symbol
(d) on the left of the display], both buttons may be
activated at the same time. In the mode "Interpreter1"
(symbol
), only one of the buttons may be activated.
During simultaneous interpreting, this will make sure
that either the interpreter or the person speaking is re-
produced via the receiver.
4) Use the control MIC LEV (6) or / and the control
AUX LEV (10) to adjust the volume for the audio
signals to be transmitted (control MIC LEV for
the microphone signals – the button FEED must
be illuminated; control AUX LEV for the AUX
signals – the button FEED THRU must be illumi-
nated). Only turn up the control to a point where
the audio signals reproduced via the receivers are
not distorted.
For most applications, the setting is ideal
when approximately 5 segments of the level in-
dication AF (c) light up with music peaks. More
than 9 segments should never light up; this will
always result in distortion.
5) After operation, switch off the transmitter with
the button
4 seconds until the display indicates OFF. If the
(3) can be
transmitter is not in use for a longer period of
time, disconnect the power supply unit from the
socket. It will consume some power even when
the transmitter has been switched off.
Remember to switch off the receivers as well;
otherwise, the batteries of the receivers will be
discharged when the receivers are used again.

6.1 Bluetooth function

To play music, for example, from a smartphone (or
from another device with Bluetooth function) and
to transmit it to the receivers via the transmitter, pair
the transmitter with the smartphone via Bluetooth.
The Bluetooth function can only be activated in the
operating mode "Transmitter", indicated by the sym-
bol
operating mode see chapter 5.
For Bluetooth transmission, the input level for
the AUX signals should be set to "Lo". In the setting
"Hi", the volume of the smartphone will be too low.
The display will indicate the setting (h) on the right
above the lock symbol. To change the level indication
see chapter 5.
