Single-phase operation

Requirement: The device is set up for single-phase
operation.
Î "5.7 Setting up the device for three-phase operation"
f Use terminals L1, N and PE.
The terminal on the right-hand side of the two L1
terminals has to be used for single-phase opera-
tion.

f Check whether the individual cores are connected cor-
rectly and that the screws are tightened.
Three-phase operation
f Use terminals L1, L2, L3, N and PE and connect in
clockwise field of rotation.
The terminals at the left-hand or right-hand side
can be used for three-phase operation.
f Check whether the individual cores are connected cor-
rectly and that the screws are tightened.

5.4.2 Earthing the device

MENNEKES recommends using the foundation
earth electrode set that is available separately.

f Connect the foundation earth electrode to the earthing
point in the device (1) according to DIN 18014.
f Connect the earthing wire (2) to the earthing point of
the front panel (3).

5.5 Surge protection

The device is optionally equipped with surge protection or
with lightning and surge protection.

The device may only be operated while giving due consi-
deration to all international and national regulations pertai-
ning to the protection of electrical systems against surges.
Attention must be paid to the following international regu-
lations or the respective national application thereof:
„ IEC 62305-1 to -4
„ In Germany: DIN VDE 0100-443
„ In Germany: DIN VDE 0100-534

ATTENTION
Damage due to improper installation
If the device is equipped with lightning and surge protec-
tion, this must be connected to the equipotential bonding
terminal with a conductor of at least 16 mm². Otherwise,
lightning current can not be diverted and will damage the
device.
f Connect lightning and surge protection to the equipo-
tential bonding terminal with a conductor of at least
16 mm².
