CONVERSIONS/CHANGES/SPARE PARTS

Only original spare parts may be used!
Unauthorised conversions and changes are forbidden for safety reasons. These
can impair the functioning of the heating circuit refill unit and cause leaks. The im-
printed approval marks are only valid if original spare parts are used.

MAINTENANCE

When working on the heating system there is a risk of scalding!

MAINTENANCE OF THE PIPE DISCONNECTOR

In accordance with DIN EN 806-5 an inspection (visual check) must be performed every six months, while
routine maintenance must be performed annually.
Brief checking of the pipe disconnector's operation is described below:
/
Fold the casing cover upwards and remove the front casing half.
/
Open the integrated shut-off valves on the heating circuit refill unit and as necessary supply water up
to the set pressure (e.g. 1.5 bar) (see fig. 5).
/
Reclose the shut-off valve of the upstream pressure side.
/
Carefully release the test plug of the upstream pressure zone and drain out about 50 ml of water. If the
pipe disconnector cartridge inserts correctly into the isolating position, the relief valve opens and the
aeratable intermediate pressure zone drains via the outlet hopper. Shortly thereafter the water flow
must stop at the test plug and at the outlet hopper. If not fouling has occurred or there is a mechanical
defect.
/
To check the outlet side backflow preventer, open the test plug of the intermediate pressure zone. Af-
ter the water volume has drained out of the intermediate pressure zone via the test plug of the up-
stream pressure zone and the outlet hopper, no further water must escape. If water continues dripping
out of the outlet hopper, the outlet backflow preventer is fouled or mechanically defective.
If this is the case, the pipe disconnector cartridge must be cleaned or replaced (see
chapter 7.1.1 "REPLACEMENT OF THE PIPE DISCONNECTOR CARTRIDGE").
/
Screw the test plugs back in and tighten manually then finally open the shut-off valve on the upstream
pressure side. The pipe disconnector then closes the intermediate pressure zone.
/
Close the shut-off valves on the heating circuit refill unit to prevent uncontrolled water feeding.
/
Reattach the casing.
