Installation situations/examples
Where should the fixing bracket for the lintel/ceiling and the opener head be fitted?
(as exemplified by a swing door)
To ensure optimum power transmission, the opener should always be fitted as close as possible
above the highest running point of the door.
•
Determine the highest running point a (a = minimum distance between door leaf and garage
ceiling). There are several installation options depending on the determined dimension.
1.
Dimension a from 38 mm to 140 mm
– Fit the garage door opener to the ceiling.
– Attach the fixing bracket for the lintel/ceiling to the lintel or ceiling (preferably to the lintel).
– If attaching to the lintel, maintain a gap of 15 mm.
2.
Dimension a greater than 140 mm
– Attach the fixing bracket for the lintel/ceiling to the lintel maintaining a gap of 50 mm between
the under edge of the rail and highest running point of the door.
– Suspend the garage door opener from the ceiling (perforated rail required, see "Accessories").
3.
Dimension a less than 36 mm
– Attach the fixing bracket for the lintel/ceiling and garage door opener to the ceiling behind
the open garage door (extension rod required, see "Accessories"). Note overall length.
Pre-assembling the garage door opener
•
Insert the rail connection pieces B all the way into the guide rail A and connect the guide rail parts.
•
Bend the white noise-absorbing foam inserts AA at the fold.
•
Wedge the noise suppressor in the middle of the 4 guide rails A.
•
Insert the pre-assembled guide rail into opener head C.
•
Slide the carriage D onto the running rail.
•
Connect the front chain deflector E, F, G and insert into the running rail.
•
To facilitate unwinding of the chain J the cover of the small accessories packaging can be detached
and used as a base.
•
Wipe excess oil off the chain with a cloth.
•
Unwind the chain into the running rail.
– Always feed the chain through the carriage D on the driver side I. To do this, disengage the
carriage (metal lever must engage with the plastic lever).
•
Connect both sides of the driver I to chain J with chain joint H.
•
To insert the chain into the chain deflector F spring E must be compressed with force.
Use guide arm M to facilitate compressing the spring.
– The chain must be placed correctly in its guide and must not be twisted.
•
Attach the emergency release cord O.
•
Attach the pinion cover N.
Installation
•
Attach the bracket for the door leaf K to the door leaf frame.
– Attach the fastening screws horizontally or vertically.
