Switch-on
Warning - risk of injury from escaping test oil
or flying parts!
If the hydraulic connection for the test equip-
ment and unit under test has not been made
properly, test oil may escape under high pres-
sure or parts of the test equipment may rup-
ture on starting the test. This can cause injury
or material damage.
Prior to switch-on, check that all hoses
have been properly connected to the test
equipment and the unit under test.
Do not open the splash guard until the
EPS drive has stopped.
Replace any leaking and defective hoses.

Voltage stabilizer operation is described in operating
instructions 1 689 979 951.
1. Close protective door.
2. Switch on the EPS at the master switch.
 The PC unit starts up.
3. Switch on voltage stabilizer on mains switch.
4. Set voltage on voltage stabilizer:
$
14  0.5 Volt for passenger-car injectors
$
28  0.5 Volt for commercial-vehicle injectors
5. Set current limitation on voltage stabilizer to maxi-
mum (35 Amps).
6. Release voltage and current limitation on voltage
stabilizer
7. Start the system software EPS945-PE/VE/CR.
 The software performs initialization of the devic-
es connected.
 The status displays light in green if all devices
have been successfully detected.

Description of shot-to-shot
determination procedure

Only perform test sequence in automatic mode.
i
Injector selection and testing are described in the
operating instructions for the CRI tester set.
After selecting the injector from the CD TestData da-
tabase and commencing the test, the test steps are
started successively. The test steps for the test items
(LL, EM, VL etc.) begin with quantity measurement.
Determination of the shot-to-shot scatter commences
following completion of quantity measurement. During
determination of the shot-to-shot scatter, the status
line first displays the message
to-Shot measurement ...
Please wait! Shot-to-Shot calibration ....
The next test step is started once the shot-to-shot scat-
ter has been determined. Once all the test steps have
been started and completed, the test protocol can be
called up. This test protocol shows the measured values
for the shot-to-shot scatter (Q3S).
