b) Commissioning

The electrode/s 13) for the measuring sensor always need/s to be kept moist, in order to be
able to supply precise measurement results over a long period of time. If there is therefore a
small amount of fluid in the membrane cap (1) of the measuring sensor (11) upon delivery, this
is normal. If no fluid is visible, this must be poured into the membrane cap (1) after commission-
ing. Put a small amount of the electrolyte supplied into the membrane cap (1) for this purpose.
Proceed as follows to pour in:
1. Remove the protective cap (2), the sensor protective cap (12) and unscrew the membrane
cap (1) in a clockwise direction.
2. Place the membrane cap (1) on a level surface.
3. Make sure that the membrane cap (1) does not topple over with the electrolyte inside it. If
this does happen, wipe up the fluid with an absorbent cloth and put the cloth in the normal
household waste. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
4. Fill with electrolyte up to the bottom of the screw thread of the membrane cap (1). Pay atten-
tion to this again, when refilling with electrolyte.
5. Insert the electrodes (13) into the filled membrane cap, initially by immersing them and
removing them a few times. Immerse them a little bit deeper each time until you can screw
them in. The repeated immersion and removal should prevent air bubbles being trapped
in the electrolyte, which can impact upon the accuracy and validity of the measurements.
6. Screw the membrane cap (1) tight up to the stop.
7. It is normal that excess electrolyte will escape during tightening of the membrane cap (1).
Wipe up the escaped electrolyte with a cloth before use.
The electrode (13) of the measuring sensor must not be allowed to dry out again after
commissioning.
If the electrolyte is used up, you can buy replacement electrolyte as an accessory using Conrad
Order No. 1763049.
The measuring sensor is a wearing part, its service life is limited. For this reason, the
measuring sensor is not covered by the warranty/guarantee.
