6. Using for the first time
With every switching of the 7-way valve the filter pump must be turned off!
The filtration system may not run dry (without water)!
The water cools down the system – in case of dry running there is no warranty replacement!
1. Before you start the filter system, it must be insured that the filter system stands outside the ba-
sin and in the level of the pool bottom. Make sure the hose connections are properly connected
and secured.
2. Let the water flow from the pool to the sand filter system. Press the valve handle down, to let
air out and to let the water in the tank. Be sure that the tank is placed under the water surface,
so the water can flow naturally in the hose towards the pump.
TIP!
Insert a hose through the skimmer entrance and down into the hose that runs from the
pool to the pump. Switch on the water. Water now flows towards the pump. Start the
pump when it is full of water. The pump begins to suck in water, creating a vacuum in
the hoses. There is no need to re-prime unless for some reason the hoses have been
disconnected.
3. Run the "BACKWASH" procedure to avoid small particles and sand grains getting into the pool
before filtration starts.

Backwash procedure

1. Make sure the power plug is disconnected. Set the handle in BACKWASH position. Switch the
pump on and carry out a backwash for a few minutes to eliminate any sand that could have
settled during filling up. During a backwash the water will flow out from the "WASTE" drain cock
an led to the nearest drain by a hose. For this use, you can by a "rolled op" hose (art. no. 1521)
2. Switch the pump off. Now set the lever on RINSE. Switch the pump on and rinse for a minute.
In the RINSE position the drain cock will be cleaned from sand grains, that or else, would have
been flushed into the pool. Switch the pump off.
3. Set the lever on FILTER. Switch the pump on. The filter is now operating normally and is carry-
ing out its function at an optimum level. We recommend you to use the filter at least twice a day
for 4-5 hours.
NOTE:
The filter system comes complete with Filter Balls. You will not normally need to back-
wash during the bathing season.
