15. Reinstall the entire system.
16. Perform a test run and visual leakage inspec-
tion of each pump side.
The pumps, the suction tube and the pressure
pipe are vented automatically after mainte-
nance.
8.3.2 With a slide valve on suction side
1. Disconnect the sewage pump undergoing
maintenance from electrical connection.
2. Close the gate valve by loosening the turn-
buckle (all the way) by turning it to the left.
3. Using a hand lever, press the slip cylinder
down as far as it will go. To make this proce-
dure easier, the lever can be moved back and
forth about the axis of the slip cylinder.
Relubricate the slip cylinder with Vaseline or an
acid-free grease.
4. Fix the turnbuckle for the stopping element by
turning it to the right.
5. The inlet to the relevant solids separation res-
ervoir is closed.
6. Pump out the collection reservoir by hand to
the minimum with the pump that is not under-
going maintenance.
7. Close the slide valve on the suction side
quickly.
8. Release the flange connection on the pressure
port of the sewage pump.
9. Loosen the screws of the pump housing on the
foot elbow and raise the pump.
10. Perform maintenance and cleaning on the
sewage pump; see "Operating and mainte-
nance manual" of the pump manufacturer.
11. Perform maintenance of the solids separation
reservoir, the flap system and the shut-off
ball.
12. Release the flap carrier flange from the parti-
tion (1 or 2 pieces depending on type) and pull
the flap carrier horizontally out of the solids
separation reservoir.
13. The resulting access to the solids separation
reservoir should be used both for cleaning the
solids separation reservoir and the separation
system and for removing the shut-off balls.
14. Check the roundness of the balls, e.g. visually
or by rolling them on a flat surface. They
should be replaced if:
- the balls are not round
- there is water inside the balls
- impressions can be seen through the
seal seat.
15. Reinstall the entire system.
16. Perform a test run and visual leakage inspec-
tion of each pump side.
The pumps, the suction tube and the pressure
pipe are vented automatically after mainte-
nance.

8.4 Filling level control
Two variants are offered ex works as a filling level
control:
• Variant I AIRPRESS – pneumatic system
• Variant II AIRPRESS - hydrostatic pressure trans-
ducer
When the level is set correctly,
1. the pump should not suck in any air through
the suction tube before the OFF switching
point.
2. the shut-off ball should not engage at the ON
switching point in the solids reservoir at the
start of pumping; if it does, a higher switching
on point should be selected.
8.4.1 Variant I - closed pneumatic system via air bel-
lows or diving bell
In this variant, a sensor closed against the atmos-
phere:
• uses compression to trigger the switch-on pulse
for the relevant pump unit (according to the
corresponding filling procedure).
• uses decompression to trigger the switch-off
pulse for the relevant pump unit (according to
the corresponding pump-out procedure).
The electrical contacts are located in the switch
cabinet outside the potentially explosive area.
The operating instructions (e.g. for changing the
switching points) are included with the wiring dia-
gram.
8.4.2 Variant II - hydrostatic pressure transducer
In this variant,
• "Pressure rise = filling procedure of the collec-
tion reservoir"
• "Pressure drop = pump-out procedure of the
collection reservoir"
generate current strengths up to 20 mA in the
sensor tip via an integrated converter. The inte-
grated converter triggers the switching points to
be set for the relevant pump unit via a measuring
transducer in the switch cabinet. The electrical
contacts are located in the switch cabinet outside
the potentially explosive area. The operating
instructions (e.g. for changing the switching
points) are included with the wiring diagram.
The hydraulic pressure transducer is explosion
protected.
