with the applicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as
the extension cable used must also comply with
these regulations.
Important information
In the event of an overloading the motor will switch
itself off. After a cool-down period (time varies) the
motor can be switched back on again.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of-
ten damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Passage points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been im-
properly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the
wall outlet.
• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insula-
tion damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly. Make sure that the connection cable does
not hang on the power network during the inspection.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the
applicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use con-
nection cables with the marking „H05VV-F".
The printing of the type designation on the connec-
tion cable is mandatory.
AC motor
• The mains voltage must be 230 V~
• Extension cables up to 25 m long must have a
cross-section of 1.5 mm
.

Allow the device to cool off before any mainte-
nance or cleaning is undertaken. There is a risk
of burning!
Always check the device before using it for obvi-
ous defects such as loose, worn or damaged parts,
correct the positioning of screws or other parts. Ex-
change the damaged parts.
Changing the planing knives (Fig. 5)
Danger! Always pull the plug out of the power socket
before doing any work on the equipment.
The hand-held electric plane comes with two carbide
metal reversible knives. Reversible knives have two
cutting edges and can be reversed. The guide slot on
the reversible knives ensures the same height setting
after a change. Replace a worn, blunt or damaged
knife.
1. Loosen the three hex. screws (b) with the spanner
(16) provided.
2. Press the belt cover (10) downwards.
3. Pull the complete blade holder out sideways.
4. Slide the reversible blade sideways out of the
blade holder with a block of wood.
Clean the knife seat before fi tting. Install the knives
in reverse order. Check that the planing knife con-
forms with both ends of the planing shaft. Always re-
place both knives to ensure a uniform chip depth.
Danger! Before using the hand-held electric plane
make sure the knives are installed securely and in
the right place.
Replacing the drive belt (Fig. 6 / 7)
1. The belt should be replaced by a trained expert.
2. The drive belt (d) must be replaced if it is worn.
3. Undo the screws (c) and remove belt cover at the
sides (5).
4. Remove the worn belt drive (d) and clean the two
belt pulleys (f/e).
5. Place the new drive belt on the small belt pulley (e)
and pull the belt onto the large belt pulley (f) whilst
turning the planing shaft.
6. Ensure that the longitudinal grooves on the drive
belt are in the guide grooves on the drive wheels.
7. Fit the belt cover (5) and secure it with the screws
(c).
Cleaning
Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents. Chemi-
cal substances can etch the plastic parts of the de-
vice. Never clean the device under running water.
• Thoroughly clean the device after every use.
• Clean the ventilation openings and the surface of
the device with a soft brush or cloth.
• Remove chips, dust and dirt with a vacuum clean-
