•
Then pull the starter cord sharply.
•
Repeat both steps until the engine starts.
•
Switch the connected consumers on
5.6.4.
Interrupting operation
•
Turn the main switch to the "0" position.
The engine will switch itself off.
5.6.5.
Putting out of operation
•
Turn the main switch to the "0" position.
The engine will switch itself off.
•
Switch the automatic circuit-breakers off.
•
Remove all consumers and cables from the socket outlets.
5.7.
Emergency start with a weak starter battery
The primer (injection system) allows the B&S Vanguard 22HP engine to be started using the recoil
starter when the battery too weak for an electric start.
Function:
When the primer is actuated, the internal pumping of air draws fuel into the inlet channel of the car-
burettor. This makes it possible to perform a manual start without activation of the fuel valve on the
carburettor.
Operation:
•
Turn the main switch (22-11) to the "I" position
•
If the engine has been standing for some time and the fuel pipes are empty, close the choke
flap, and ensure a fuel supply by repeated actuation of the recoil starter. (if there is fuel in the
fuel filter, apply suction to the fuel approx. 5x)
•
If the engine is cold, close the choke flap (21-4) by hand and operate the primer blowing
bellows (21-5) 3x. After each operation, check that the air can flow freely out of the opening in
the bellows.
•
Start the engine with the recoil starter
•
Adjust the choke flap
5.8.
Protective earth test system
Testing the protective earth for consumers with metal casings.
•
For this, assemble the test probe to the test lead and plug the test lead into the socket (22-8).
•
Hold the test probe against a bare metal surface on the consumer.
•
If the green indicator lamp (22-7) lights up and the horn sounds, the test lead has found
continuity.
