PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION OF THE POWER GENERATOR

3.1.

Definition of the device class

The power generator 14 EV SS cube belongs to the device class of power generating units
with an internal combustion engine and asynchronous generator. It is designed for 400/230 V,
50 Hz power generation in the commercial sector. The generator delivers into a locally-specific
distribution system.
3.2.

Intended use

The power generator is designed for free-standing power generation (independent operation).
Use on a vehicle or on a device slide or pivoting/rotating compartment in the respectively
pushed in or swing in condition is permissible provided the device is supplied with fresh air via
sufficiently dimensioned air intake openings in the structure, and especially the air passages to
the air intake and air discharge openings are not restricted and the build-up of heat is avoided.
The free discharge of exhaust gases into the atmosphere must be ensured. This operating
mode is permissible up to a maximum of 30 minutes! After no longer than 30 minutes the
power generator must be fully pulled out or swung out.
Connect electrical consumers only up to the total power indicated on the rating plate. You can
find the power generator rating plate on the left side below the control box.
Observe the specifications for voltage and frequency.
Comply with the start/inrush current when supplying inductive consumers.
The loop impedance, i.e. the sum of all connected cables as defined by ISO 8528-8, must be
no greater than 1.5 Ω. This resulting cable lengths are up to 60 m for cables with a wire cross-
section of 1.5 mm² and up to 100 m for cables with a wire cross-section of 2.5 mm². Use only
approved extension cables that correspond to the standard.
Electronically controlled devices can be sensitive to overvoltage or undervoltage. Such voltage
fluctuations can lead to malfunctions or can damage this equipment. Ask the manufacturer
whether their device is designed to be powered by a power generator.
Operate the power generator in an open space. Maintain the minimum distances specified in
section „5.2. Setting up the power generator" on Page 25. Supply and exhaust openings must
be kept free.
Reading and complying with the operating instructions for the power generator and the drive
engine is part of the intended use.
3.3.

Foreseeable misuse

Connection of the power generator to a power supply network within a building
Operation in an explosion hazard environment
Operation in a fire hazard environment
Operation in confined spaces
Filling with fuel when the engine is hot
Filling with fuel when the engine is running
Spraying with high-pressure cleaners
