the fasteners. Avoid the crushing or crimping of
the fasteners by the application of needle holders
or forceps.
2. A surgeon should not attempt clinical use of
the DePuy Mitek Meniscal Fasteners before
reviewing instructions for use and rehearsing the
installation procedure.
3. Users should exercise caution when handling surgical
needles to avoid inadvertent needle sticks.
4. Discard used needles in sharps containers.
WARNINGS
Users should be familiar with the arthroscopic surgical
procedures and techniques for repair of meniscal
tissue before using the meniscal fasteners for meniscal
tissue repair.
Always use a cannula to insert the fastener/needle
into the joint in an arthroscopic procedure. Failure to
do so may result in the fastener catching on tissue
during insertion.
