Introduction

Thank you for buying this optical oxygen sensor
from METTLER TOLEDO. The InPro 6000 optical O
sensors are intended solely for in-line measurement
of the oxygen partial pressure. The optical oxygen
sensors with integrated temperature probes are used
for measurement of oxygen in hygienic applications
such as bio-tech fermentation and food & beverage
applications.
The sensors are sterilizable and compatible with CIP
(cleaning-in-place). For fermentation applications the
InPro 6860 i is applicable and fully sterilizable /
clavable. The InPro 6960 i and 6970 i are intended
for use in the food & beverage industry for measuring
high and low ppb levels of oxygen respectively. The
InTap sensor is intended to be used in the portable
oDO analyzer (30 425 550 / 30 457 912).

Safety instructions

Notice: Before every start-up, the sensor must be

checked for:
– Damage to the connections, fastenings, etc.
– Leakage
– Perfect functioning
– Authorization for use in conjunction with other plant
equipment and resources.
Notice: The manufacturer / supplier accepts no re-
h
sponsibility for any damage caused by unauthorized
attachments or for the incorporation of spare parts
which are not of METTLER TOLEDO provenance. The
risk is borne entirely by the operator.

Caution: Before the sensor is put into operation, the
operator must have already clarified that use of the
sensor in conjunction with the other associated equip-
ment and resources is fully authorized.

Caution: A defective sensor may neither be installed
nor put into operation. Faulty containment or instal-
lation out of conformance with regulations and in-
structions can lead to the escape of medium or to
pressure surges (explosion), potentially harmful both
to persons and to the environment.

Caution: The sensor is not equipped with heat protec-
tion. During steam-sterilization procedures in pipes,
the surface of the sensor can reach high temperatures
and cause burns.

Caution: Some components inside the sensor are en-
ergized with voltages which can cause lethal shocks in
case of contact. The instrument needs to be switched
to zero potential before any operation on the wiring
terminal.
