On: A call is currently being made.
On: An external call is currently being made.

7.2

External answering machine

The G icon indicates a new message has been recorded for you on the external answering machine. The G icon is only
displayed when the equipment is connected to a digital telephone connection. The icon disappears after playing the message.
Caution: The external answering machine and transmission of the G icon is a supplementary service provided by
your telephone network provider. Contact your network provider for further information.
7.3

Taking a call

When a call is received, both the handset and base station ring. Take the handset from the base station or press the Call button
F. A connection is established.
To end the call, replace the handset in the base station or press the F button.
Note:
When the handset is ringing, press the D or E button to adjust the ringing volume.
7.4

Taking two calls

You will hear acoustic signals (call waiting) if a second call is received while you are carrying out a telephone conversation. The
number of the second caller appears in the display. Press the R and 2" buttons in sequence to switch between the two
callers. One caller is put on hold while you converse with the other.
Note:
In order to use the supplementary services provided by your telephone network provider, the Flash time must be set
to 300 ms (refer to Chapter 10.5).
Note:
The caller number display and call waiting function are optional services offered by the telephone network provider.
Contact your network provider for further information.
7.5

Making a call

1. Enter the phone number (max. 32 digits). A maximum of 12 characters can appear in the display. In the case of longer
phone numbers, only the last 12 digits are displayed.
Note:
Incorrect digits entered can be deleted by briefly pressing the A button. Pressing the A button longer deletes the
entire phone number.
2. Press the Call button F and the connection is established.
Note:
Alternatively, press the F button and then enter the phone number. It is not possible to correct wrongly entered
numbers when using this method of dialling.
