INDICATIONS FOR USE

• Mild to moderate unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis
• Degenerative meniscal tears
• Other knee conditions that may benefit from unicompartmental
unloading
CAUTION
For users with peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy, and sensitive
skin, close practitioner supervision is recommended. If redness appears,
decrease usage of brace. Increase usage slowly as skin adapts.

INITIAL APPLICATION AND ADJUSTMENT
Preparation and Donning (Figures 2–4)
• Before donning brace, pull out SmartDosing
• Undo calf strap and loosen both DFS straps by pulling both at the
same time.
• Detach lower DFS strap from shell by sliding hook tab downward,
then lifting it up from shell hole and out from sleeve (strap stays
attached to hook tab during this movement).
• Ask user to don brace while seated. Then in standing position, align
brace such that patella top is level with mid-hinge.
Upper DFS Strap Adjustment (Figures 5–8)
• Pull upper strap slightly further, until yellow indicator component is
accessible.
• Hold yellow component in place while detaching upper strap from
button hooks.
• Estimate ideal length of strap by placing it next to the SmartDosing
scale and identifying cut-line aligned with the first indicator.
• Trim strap, making sure to leave at least one extra set of holes above
sleeve slot.
• Round corners of strap by trimming, and reattach to button hooks.
NB: If unable to trim straps immediately, attach to appropriate set of
holes and thread into sleeve slot.
Lower DFS Strap Adjustment (Figures 9–11)
• Detach strap from hook tab.
• Place strap on leg next to sleeve slot.
