System restore

Requirement
The device must have the factory settings before a Restore package is installed. This means:
● All network cables have been pulled from the device.
● The only expansion cards inserted are those with which the device was delivered and the expansion cards are in the
same slots as in the delivered condition. Additional expansion cards are permissible if they are listed in section "Slots for
internal expansion cards (Page 26)".
● Partitioning of the hard disks in the device must be the same as in the factory settings.
● The logical names of the system partitions must be "Boot", "System", "WinRE" and "Data...", as in the delivery condition.
NOTICE
Risk of data loss
Depending on the selected restore mode, the C: system partition or the entire hard disks are deleted when the system
is restored. When the entire hard disks are deleted, all data, user settings and existing authorizations are lost.
Make a regular backup of the contents of the C: system partition and the hard disks, particularly before the system
•
restore.
Do not change the size of the system partition. The size of the system partition must be the same as in the factory
•
settings, i.e. 128 GB.
Procedure
1. Insert the first DVD of the Restore package into the DVD drive. Start the device.
You can find information on the Restore DVDs in the section "PCS 7 software product package (Page 20)".
2. When the BIOS message to select the boot manager appears, press the <ESC> key and select the "Boot Manager"
option.
After initialization has completed, a "Boot menu" is displayed.
3. In the boot menu, select the (UEFI) DVD drive using the cursor keys.
4. After the info box has been confirmed, select your preferred language ("English" or "German") in the "Restore" menu.
5. Select one of the following options in the next menu depending on the operating system:
Windows 10
"Restore factory settings"
All the existing hard disks are deleted. The factory settings
are restored. All data, user settings and authorizations are
lost in the process.
– "Restore partition layout"
Only the partition layout is restored; no image is restored. All data, user settings and authorizations are lost in the
process.

Follow the instructions in the dialogs. Once the restore
process is complete and the device has been restarted,
select the PCS 7 IPC bundle type that you have ordered:
