8. Start-up and venting

When the tank has been installed with all connec-
tions and the pump has been mounted, proceed as
follows:
1. Remove the tank cover.
2. Pour water into the tank until the pump starts.*
3. Move the pump gently from side to side until it
starts delivering water.
4. Fit the cover to the tank.
To avoid obnoxious smells, it is recommended to
pour water into the water seal of the drain grating.
* If the pump does not start, check that the lever
arm and the level switch have been fitted correctly
and can move freely.

9. Maintenance

Liftaway B 40-1 with a Unilift KP or AP pump is prac-
tically maintenance-free. However, regular checks
and cleaning will ensure faultless operation and a
long operating life.
To prevent unnecessary pumping, it should be
checked that the connected units are tight.

Cleaning the tank:
For systems which are used very rarely, occasional
internal cleaning is recommended.
Cleaning the units connected:
After cleaning the units connected, flush the Liftaway
once more with clean water.
