6- and 8-Place
1. If desired, the dispenser and storage case may be wiped clean with water, isopropyl alcohol or a 3% Lysol solution. Do not use alkaline
cleaning agents, organic solvents, or abrasive cleaners. After cleaning, always air-dry the unit thoroughly before inserting cartridges.
2. Avoid the use of either an excessively cold or warm dispenser. Always allow it to reach room temperature before using. Return the
loaded dispenser to the refrigerator as quickly as possible after use. Do not store in the freezer.
3. It is recommended that the desiccant container, packed with each dispenser, be placed in the dispenser base to help maintain a low
moisture environment. The desiccant should be regenerated when the silica gel, as viewed thorough the monitor window on the top of
the container, has turned pink. To regenerate, heat the container in a vented oven at 300 °F for approximately 3 hours or until the deep
blue color returns. Upon cooling, the container may be reused and will be capable of reabsorbing moisture to its full capacity.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

12-Place
This dispenser has been carefully manufactured and thoroughly tested. Trouble-free performance is assured by understanding and practicing
the correct operating procedures. The following instructions describe the operation of the dispenser and precautions to be observed:
PREPARATION
1. Remove the dispenser from the refrigerator and allow it to reach room temperature.
2. Remove the dispenser from its storage case and place on work surface.
3. Slide the blue knob to the "Lock" position. The dispenser will not operate properly if in the "Unlock" position.
4. Lift the dispenser about an inch and set it down sharply on the work surface. Do this with the cartridges removed at the start of the day's
usage or whenever the tampers have become displaced by turning the dispenser upside down. This action assures that the tampers are
returned to their operating positions.
DRY CYCLING
1. Lift the dispenser and place it over an empty Petri dish.
2. Depress the knob firmly until the sound of the tampers is heard. (If the dispenser will not dry cycle, tap the side of the unit against the
side of the work surface and repeat the procedure.)
3. Allow the knob to return to the upper position.
4. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 several times to get the feel of the dispenser.
INSERTING CARTRIDGES
1. Slide the blue knob to the "Unlock" position.
2. Insert the cartridges into the numbered holes and press down lightly.
3. Slide the blue knob to the "Lock" position. If resistance is encountered, the cartridges are not properly seated. To correct, steps 1 and 2
should be repeated.
6- and 8-Place
These dispensers are carefully manufactured and thoroughly tested. Trouble-free performance is assured by understanding and practicing the
correct operating procedures.
1. Remove the dispenser from the refrigerator and allow it to reach room temperature.
2. Remove the dispenser from the storage case and place on the work surface.
3. Pull out the small black knob located on the side of the dispenser showing the BD name to the furthest point (about 1/2"), and slide the
knob down so it locks in place.
4. Insert cartridges.
5. Release the black knob so that it returns to the original position to lock cartridges in the dispenser.
CARTRIDGES
6-, 8-, and 12-Place
The last disc in each cartridge is marked with an "X". A green plastic slug has been
incorporated in each cartridge after the "X" marked disc. This prevents the dispenser from
operating when an empty cartridge is in place. Watch for the appearance of discs marked
"X" and immediately insert full cartridges. When inserting cartridges into the dispenser,
make certain that the first disc is centered in the end of the cartridge.
