• Failure to use protective cover plates may constitute a safety hazard or result in irreparable damage to the auto darkening filter.
MAINTENANCE
• Frequently check the helmet components and replace any worn or damaged parts.
• Replace the external/internal transparent cover plates protection if it is broken, scored, scratched and out of shape. Damaged protections impair the
vision of the user, which lowers helmet protection to a dangerous level.
• Regularly clean the auto darkening filter and the cover plates surfaces with a soft cloth and a non-aggressive cleaning solution, for example one for
cleaning glass (do not pour the product directly onto the filter).
• Get into the habit of making sure that the solar cells and the sensors have not darkened or are not covered in dirt. If they have or if they are, clean them
with a soft paper tissue, if necessary slightly dampened with a preparation for cleaning glass (do not pour the product directly onto the filter).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The helmet must always and only be used to protect the face and eyes during welding. It was designed to guarantee maximum protection during welding,
to be easy to assemble, comfortable to wear and of top quality when used.
The helmet and consequently the filter glass viewing area, must be kept as close as possible to the eyes during welding, in order to protect them from the
electric arc and possible drops of molten metal.
After using the helmet and before putting it away after working, it must be checked to verify integrity and to eliminate any drops of molten metal that may
be present on the viewing filter, which can reduce its visual performance.
The helmet must be placed in a way that does not allow its dimensions to deform permanently, or the viewing filter to break.
Before starting to weld make sure that the filter and the internal and external transparent protections are correctly positioned. Adjust the "shade" according
to the current and the welding process. Table 1 gives the recommended "shade" numbers for using an electric arc welding machine to carry out common
jobs and the different welding current intensity levels. Adjust "Sensitivity" according to the light intensity of the welding arc (adjust "delay-time" to set the
delay time for moving from dark to light shade, after interrupting the arc, according to the luminosity of the piece). Before using, carry out a test with an
arc strike.
When in the "GRIND" mode, the mask can be used for grinding process.
The cover plates TW 1 B CE, TW B CE are marked only with letter "B"; they are not protected against high speed particles at extremes of temperature but
only against medium energy impact particles at room temperature.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Some common problems listed below, together with their possible solutions, can arise when using the helmet:
• The filter does not darken or is unstable when switching from light to dark and viceversa.
Possible solution.
- The external transparent protection of the filter is dirty or damaged (change the external transparent protection).
- The sensors are dirty (clean the sensor surface).
- The level of the welding current level is too low (increase sensitivity).
- The batteries are not in good condition or not properly inserted (replace the batteries or remove them and re-insert them properly).
- Battery terminals and the contact surfaces of the filter are dirty or oxidized (clean both).
- The helmet is in "GRIND" instead of "WELD". Switch to "WELD".
• Slow switching.
The operating temperature is too low (do not use at temperatures of below -5°C (+23°F).
• Poor visibility.
- The external or/and internal protection of the filter is/are dirty or damaged (clean the dirty components and replace the damaged ones).
- Not enough light in the surrounding area.
- The scale number is not set correctly.
ATTENTION!
If the described malfunctions cannot be solved, stop using the helmet immediately and contact the nearest distributor.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING

• Only use soap and water or products that do not contain solvents to clean and disinfect the helmet. Using chemical solvents ruins the aesthetics of the
helmet and can dramatically reduce its integrity.
• Taking good general care of the helmet reduces its obsolescence to a minimum, both from a use and a helmet component point of view.
• Regularly clean the filter surface with a soft cloth and a non-aggressive cleaning solution, for example one for cleaning glass (do not pour the product
directly onto the filter).
• Get into the habit of making sure that the solar cells and the sensors have not darkened or are not covered in dirt. If they have or if they are, clean them
with a soft paper tissue, if necessary slightly dampened with a preparation for cleaning glass (do not pour the product directly onto the filter).
ASSEMBLY
Assemble as shown in the drawing (Fig. A).
