Move the cursor to DATE FORM with the V or v
button, and then select the date display format using
the B or b button.
If you do not want to change the display format,
skip this step.
You can select among from the following three
formats:
YYYY indicates year, MM indicates month and
DD indicates day.
YYYY–MM–DD (example: 2002–08–20)
DD–MM–YYYY (example: 20–08–2002)
MM–DD–YYYY (example: 08–20–2002)

Press the MENU button.
The menu disappears from the monitor screen.
About the memory of time
A built-in lithium button battery is used to memorize the
internal clock. If the indicator appears on the
monitor when the power enters the standby mode by
pressing the a/? switch, it is time to replace the lithium
button battery with a new one.
Make sure to replace with only the specified type of
battery.
After replacement, set the date and time again.
For information on lithium button batteries, see "Battery
Safety Precautions" on page 4.

Preparing the Card

The picture shot is saved on the PC card (not supplied)
or on the "Memory Stick" (not supplied) inserted into
the PC card slot on the camera control unit. To use the
"Memory Stick", insert the "Memory Stick" in the
Memory Stick/PC card adaptor and then insert the
adaptor into the PC card slot.

Making sure the side of the "Memory Stick" with the v
mark is facing up, insert the "Memory Stick" into the
Memory Stick/PC card adaptor until it is locked firmly
in place.

Write-protect tab on the "Memory Stick"
The write-protect tab on the rear of the "Memory Stick"
does not function for the camera. You cannot set protect
on the pictures saved on a card even if the write-protect
tab is set to LOCK.

Insert a card into the PC card slot.
• Make sure to insert the card in the proper direction.
• If you insert a card that has not been initialized, you

card adaptor.
Pull out the "Memory Stick".

Forcing the card may result in damage to the camera
and/or the card.
