Situations in which the focus indicator
may not function properly
• When there is an extremely bright object near the
subject to be shot
• When the subject is near a highly reflective surface
such as a mirror or polished metals
• For black subject with non-reflective surfaces such as
hairs
• For subject with small surface areas such as wire
netting or lattices
• For subject with ephemeral shapes, such as smoke,
flames or fire works
• For subject with extremely low contrast
• When the subject is moving quickly
Displaying the histogram
When shooting, a histogram that shows the luminance
distribution of the image can be displayed on the LCD
monitor. You can use it to judge the exposure condition.
Press the HISTOGRAM button.
The histogram indicator appears on the LCD monitor.
The horizontal axis represents the brightness and the
vertical axis represents the luminance distribution.
Generally, the indication clusters to the right with
overexposure, and to the left with underexposure.
When you press the HISTOGRAM button again, the
indicator disappears.
Note
With some pictures, proper histograms may not be
displayed.

Viewing
You can view the images recorded on a card both on the
LCD monitor and the video monitor connected to the
camera.
Viewing the Pictures on an LCD
Monitor
• Viewing a list of still pictures (Index pictures)
Multiple images are displayed in a list form. It is
convenient for finding a specific image.
• Viewing images one after another
One image is displayed in full screen.

Press the ON side of the a/? (main power) switch
on the rear of the camera control unit.
The ?/1 (on/standby) indicator on the top of the
camera control unit lights in orange.

Press the ?/1 (on/standby) switch.
The ?/1 (on/standby) indicator lights in green, and
the LCD monitor is activated. Check that the
picture from the camera (live image) is displayed
on the monitor.

Turn on the connected equipment.

Insert a card into the card slot.

Press the PLAY H button.
The message "NOW LOADING..." is displayed on
the LCD monitor, and the access lamp lights in red.
When the access lamp turns off, the 10 picture files
of the lowest file number in order are displayed on
the LCD monitor.
