Meaning of the symbols in these instructions

This symbol is used to identify all safety instructions. Read these instructions care-
fully and follow them to avoid injury to persons or damage to property.
This symbol is used to identify hints and recommendations.

Safety instructions

Intended use
❐ This appliance is designed for vacuum cleaning normal household dust. It is intended only
for private indoor use and is not suitable for commercial applications.
❐ The appliance is not suitable plush or shag carpeting.
❐ The appliance must only be used as described in the operating instructions. Any other
use is deemed to be improper.
Warning of misuse
❐ On no account should the appliance be used to pick up the following:
– Liquids or wet substances (e.g. wet carpet shampoo)
– Glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches, etc.
– Infl ammable or explosive substances
– Very fi ne dust (e.g. concrete dust) or toner
– Pointed, hard substances such as e.g. large pieces of broken glass
Danger of injury
❐ Children and pets must be supervised to guarantee that they do not play with and/or
injure themselves on the appliance. Children must not sit or ride on the appliance.
❐ Please keep the packaging and the appliance out of the reach of children and pets.
❐ This appliance should not be used by people (including children) with impaired sensory
or mental faculties or who do not have adequate experience and/or knowledge of such
appliances, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or have
received instructions from such a person on how to use the appliance.
