NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
► Before each use, check the product for functional reliability and
for possible wear or damage.
► Do not continue using a product that is no longer functional, or
that is worn or damaged.
NOTICE
Improper molding or application
Damage to the product due to overloading of the material and
improper fit of the product due to breakage of load-bearing compo­
nents
► The product may only be molded by qualified personnel.
► Do not make any improper changes to the product.
► Always apply the product according to the information in the
instructions.
4 Handling
INFORMATION
► The daily duration of use and period of application are generally
determined by the physician.
► The initial fitting and application of the product must be carried
out by qualified personnel.
► Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
► Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any excep­
tional changes are noted (e.g. worsening of the complaint).
4.1 Selecting the Size
1) Measure the wrist circumference.
2) Determine the brace size (see size chart).
4.2 Fitting and Application
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Skin irritation due to overheating, local pressure points due to tight
application to the body
► Ensure that the product is applied properly and fits correctly.
► When in doubt, do not continue to use the product if skin irrita­
tion occurs.
Adapting the side
The brace is pre-configured for the right hand upon delivery. For use
on the left hand, remove the wrist strap, rotate it by 180 ° and fasten it
to the brace again (see fig. 2).
Adapting the splints
Two metal splints are located in the outer pockets of the brace. The
two metal splints are anatomically pre-shaped and can be customized
to fit the user (see fig. 3).
1) Pull the splints out of the pockets on the outside of the brace (see
fig. 4).
2) Shape the splints, paying attention to molding them around the
thumb.
3) Place the shaped splints back in the outer pockets.
Application

The wrist strap is open.
>
The thumb strap is loosened.
1) Pull the brace over the thumb and wrist.
2) Guide the wrist strap around the wrist and fasten it with the hook-
and-loop closure (see fig. 5).
3) Use the two hook-and-loop closures to fasten the thumb strap
(see fig. 6).
→ The brace fits snugly without pinching. (Use the hook-and-loop
closures to optimize the fit of the brace if necessary.)
