Water tank machine or machine in use with water tank
1 Open the cup warmer tray. Take out the water tank and rinse it thoroughly.
2 Fill the water tank with fresh water consisting of minimal amounts of lime, place it back into the water tank
guides and close the cup warmer tray.
Insert the plug into the wall socket. Turn the power switch to "1". The machine is now on.

4 The green signal lamp lights up.
5 The pump will fill the boiler of the machine with fresh water.
6 As soon as the boiler is filled, the pump will stop; the orange signal lamp is now on. As soon as the fresh water
falls to a certain level in the water tank, the machine switches off and the orange signal lamp turns off. Refill with
fresh water and the machine will restart and heat up automatically.
7 A large amount of water is required to fill the boiler for the first time, so the water tank will have to be refilled
with fresh water.
8 Wait until the boiler pressure gauge indicates approx. 1.0-1.25 bar or 120° C (248°F) has been reached.
A manual "boiler ventilation" is not necessary because the TECHNIKA V Profi PID is equipped with a

professional depression valve that ventilates the boiler during the heating-up phase.
10 Move the group lever into the upper position and dispense approx. 500 ml of water. This way, the heat exchanger
will be filled with water and the circulation of the water in the thermosyphon system begins.
11 Move the group lever into the lower position. Refill the water tank.
12 The machine is now ready for use. Put the cups on the cup heater tray in order to preheat them.
Machine in use with direct water connection
Insert the plug into the wall socket. Turn the power switch to "1". The machine is now on.

2 The green signal lamp lights up. The pump begins to fill the boiler of the machine with fresh water.
3 As soon as boiler has filled, no more pump noise will be heard; the orange signal lamp is on now and the
machine will heat up automatically
4 Wait until the boiler pressure gauge indicates approx. 1.0-1.25 bar or 120° C (248°F) has been reached.

If the machine does not heat up when using it for the first time or when dispensing large quantities of
water through the hot water valve, please switch the machine off and on again.

USE OF THE MACHINE

6.1 Preparation of the machine

The switched off machine is to be placed into operation as follows:
Machine in use with water tank or with direct water connection
1 Use with water tank: Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank. Fill if necessary
Use with direct water connection: Make sure that there is enough pressure in the direct water supply connection.
Turn the machine on (power switch in position "1").

3 Wait until the pressure gauge indicates approx. 1.0-1.25 bar.
4 Depending on the ambient temperature, the heat-up phase is approx. 15 minutes.
5 The machine is now ready for use.
6 Insert the portafilter and move the brew group lever into the upper position. Release some hot water so the
portafilter will be heated.
It is recommended to leave the portafilter in the brew group keeping it warm for optimum
temperature for coffee brewing.
